Kockums heritage lives on in Hall 259
A brick façade and an old crane beam are being retained in Varvsstaden.
Hall 259 in Varvsstaden is being converted for retail, mobility, housing and offices. Its historic brick façade is being retained with the support of a new internal structure. An old overhead-crane beam has also been given a load-bearing role in the extension. The conversion combines new uses with tangible traces of Malmö’s shipbuilding heritage.
